Dear <%=[FirstName]%>,
The old proverb goes "March comes in
like a lion and out like a lamb." Despite the snow outside
reminding us that winter is still hanging on we are going to focus on the fact that Spring will be upon us
in no time.
At Premier
Pilates and Yoga we will
offer a special workshop this month that will help your body make a smooth
transition from Winter to Spring, a Yoga Detox Workshop on Friday March 19th at
7PM. In addition, we are adding more Yoga classes and are even featuring the
Saturday Flow Yoga Class with Melissa as the Free Class of the Month.
In this newsletter we focus on Yoga and
what it can do for your mind, body and spirit. I personally find regular Yoga
practice to be crucial to helping me maintain my physique, flexibility, and
peace of mind. I
hope that you find this newsletter informative and that we see you in the studio
soon.

WORKSHOP OF THE
MONTH:
Yoga Spring Detox - Friday March
19th 7PM
Spring is a time when nature reawakens and rejuvenates. Days become longer and
the sunshine warmer; birds begin to sing and tree buds swell and prepare to
blossom. In sync with spring’s revival, our bodies also shift into a higher
gear, letting us experience a welcome surge of energy. Almost instinctively, we
clean out our closets and throw open the windows to let in fresh air. But why
limit spring cleaning to just our homes? Our bodies need it as well
Yoga is a great way chase out
old winter energy out and create space for new opportunities and
inspiration. This workshop will be an exploration of the detoxification
techniques through the practice of yogic purification poses and pranayama
(breathing ) to assist the unlocking and releasing of stagnant energy that has
accumulated in the body. Come join us for this rejuvenating practice!
Workshop Focus:
-
tuning into the eyes–the sense organs of springtime
-
mobilizing our skeletal and muscular structure with fluid slow movements
-
stabilizing and moving into Sun Salutes
-
vibrantly twisting in lying, seated and standing postures
-
toning the kidneys with backbends and the liver with forward bends
-
opening the hips to encourage movement of the emotional body
-
enduring inversions to facilitate drainage of the lymphatic system.
-
closing with a restorative savasana-relaxation of body & mind.
Come
join us on Friday March 19th 7pm -8:15pm Register
here to reserve your spot in this amazing workshop. Use your mat class card
or pay $20 to participate in this workshop.

THE BENEFITS OF YOGA:
Wonderful by itself, Outstanding as an Adjunct To Other Fitness Routines |
|
Yoga is an amazing holistic therapy that compliments all sports and
fitness programs and it offers physical benefits to everyone!
Besides being a physical activity, yoga has deeper aspects relating to
thoughts, emotions, energy |
 |
(prana) and spirituality. Since we are always experiencing our thoughts
and feelings as well as stress related to work, family, or finances, the lessons
learned in a yoga class can teach us how to find that place of peace at any time
and in any situation.
Practitioners of various disciplines will benefit from the extra edge that yoga
practice provides as they become more mentally focused and more aware of their
bodies; thereby increasing their performance in any sport or fitness program.
The gained strength, balance, confidence, flexibility, quick recovery time, and
minimal risk of injury will allow them to train more efficiently and with
increased progress.
A balanced and centered practitioner can help provide you with the tools you
will need to accomplish own individual goals. Yoga is non-competitive and
non-aggressive and teaches the practitioner to relax through movement and to
develop awareness of purpose of each movement. This
helps translate into a better awareness and understanding of the body itself
which, in turn, allows an individual’s to excel in other sports and fitness
endeavors.

little cleaner, your movement a little more smooth, consider doing a Yoga class
and seeing if this discipline is for you. |

Special Classes for Kids and
Teens
Pilates Stretch and Strengthen Workshops
Pilates
is an exceptional exercise technique for core strengthening, flexibility, and
developing a lean, strong physique. Pilates best trains the seven physical
performance factors: posture, balance, stability, mobility/flexibility,
coordination, functional strength and endurance. For athletes, theses
skills are essential; but just about everyone will benefit from enhancing these.
With this in mind we designed unique programs for our kid and teen classes. if
you have an interest in helping your child or teen athletes excel in their dance,
acrobatics, soccer, or any other sport consider registering them in the
following classes:
